Thanks to you all, we have reached our $10,000 goal, and are able to fully fund our Pass the Mic fellowship for 2021. Excited to share the work of inspiring educators from across NOLA. #staytuned.

As we wave goodbye to 2020 (see ya!), we want to thank all of you who have given, as well as ask for donations (one last time) from those who may still have the means to support us. We have moved the goal to $13,000 (we are just $1,000 away) to support more loud voices!

All our funds will support New Orleans kids (like DJ Dice!) speaking up and trying hard things. To donate head over to our website (linked in our bio)

We can’t wait to use these funds to support other educators in New Orleans who want to make audio content with their students. Your gift will go directly to equipment, teacher stipends (yay pay teachers for extra work!), and collaboration software.

Super excited for the debut of “Turn It Up or Turn It Down”- a radio gameshow from educator and digital creative @presidentpat Each week, DJ President Pat will play one classic song for our young DJs to decide whether they love it or want to leave it.

As we kick off our #passthemic campaign, we want to continue to share the work and voices that inspire us every week.

Listen to DJ Princess explain why it’s important to talk to bullies and understand where they are coming from.

Inspired AGAIN by our friends at @826national @826neworleans and their work with @cartoonnetworkofficial, we challenged Be Loud DJs to produce short radio segments that speak out against bullying. Although written in October for #NationalBullyingPreventionMonth, we believe there is no better time than now to hear from our DJs.

Happy Giving Tuesday! Today we are launching our end of year “Pass the Mic” Campaign. This spring we will pilot the Be Loud Producer’s Fellowship, where we will support (financially and through community) other educators who want to amplify kid voice by creating audio content.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 this month to fully fund this program and create a larger community of loud and proud youth.
