A free Saturday program for DJs who want to tell stories that matter.
Every week, Be Loud DJs write, record and mix their own segments for our radio programs and podcasts - in the studio, out in the field, and on air with WHIV and WTUL.
Paid Junior Producer leadership program to mentor, lead, produce.
Junior Producers are the bridge between youth DJs, staff and the wider Be Loud community. They get hands-on training in leadership, facilitation, audio production, interviewing and event planning, and track one leadership skill all season.
Build a narrative podcast from start to finish and get paid doing it.
Thursday night sessions where you plan, record, edit and share your own 5–8 minute narrative podcast with mentors and community partners alongside you. The season ends with a public presentation and celebration of your work.
A year-long fellowship for educators bringing audio into class.
Teachers get the studio training, curriculum and coaching to run youth media in their own classrooms. We stay with them all year.
One week of full-time studio immersion.
Campers write, record and publish their first piece before the summer ends. Mornings are for interviewing, editing and mic skills; afternoons are for field recording across the city with our producers.
A paid, weeklong summer intensive on misinformation and storytelling.
Students dig into how misinformation spreads and who it impacts, interview community members working against it, and turn their insights into a short radio story broadcast.
