Who we are

About Be Loud Studios

Be Loud Studios is a New Orleans nonprofit dedicated to amplifying youth voice and confidence through radio and media production. We provide young people positive opportunities to tell their own stories and share their perspectives with the wider community.

Our work starts from a simple belief: young people have important things to say, and adults need to listen. Now we're asking a new question with them. How is technology shaping their relationships, learning, identity, and community?

The opportunity

What this role is

The Director of Digital Well-Being will lead Be Loud's work helping young people and the adults around them build a healthier relationship with technology.

Building on our work with Harvard's Center for Digital Thriving, the Pass the Mic fellowship, and local school and community partners, this person will take a promising pilot and make it a lasting part of what Be Loud does.

You'll spend some days in a classroom running a workshop and others pitching a nonprofit organization on a partnership. We want someone who likes both kinds of work and has ideas of their own about where this should go.

This is a full-time position with an annual salary starting at $68,000. Be Loud offers health benefits, a 3% retirement match, paid time off, holidays, and opportunities for professional development.

Year one is about turning a growing piece of Be Loud's work into a program that runs well and can reach more people. The goals below give you something concrete to aim for. They also leave room for your own ideas, and we expect to adjust as we learn.

Each area has a benchmark. These may shift, but they reflect what we'll expect from the role.

GoalCreate 1 facilitator toolkit that staff can use independently.

  2. 02

    Program Quality

Set up a regular routine for preparing facilitators, observing sessions, giving feedback, and updating the curriculum based on what you see.

Goal90% of all participants rate their experience positively.

  3. 03

    Evaluation

Create a simple way to track attendance, partner experience, and feedback from youth and adults, so we can tell what's working.

GoalProduce 2 impact reports (with quantitative data) annually, including recommendations for improvement for staff and board.

  4. 04

    Organizational Integration

Make Digital Well-Being part of how Be Loud works, including in our radio and fellowship programs.

GoalDevelop 1 shared set of Digital Well-Being practices for Be Loud.

  5. 05

Generate contracted Digital Well-Being revenue through paid workshops, professional learning, and/or customized organizational partnerships.

GoalDevelop a written earned revenue plan and an active pipeline of prospective partners, then secure at least $25,000 in contracted revenue that does not depend on grants.

You won't build this alone. We're in it 100% with you.

  7. 07

    Growth
